Imagine a future so bleak, where humanity is on the verge of collapse, and their only course of action is to send people back in time to change the future. The first part of that is pretty easy to imagine, but what about that second part? This is where Travelers is truly innovative. Instead of sending people back, only their consciousness is sent back in time, into the brain of a person about to die. This level of neural rewriting would essentially kill the person, so it is justified since the host was basically dead anyway. This process would be so complex, only a highly advanced AI would be able to sort it out and make these decisions. This week we discuss the quantum nature of it all, plus we fit in a reference to the Christmas classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” & Daniel J. Glenn may shift his tune on a robot apocalypse.
